Gabby and Nate have the unique opportunity to work together in a little shop in our tiny hometown. The kids make waffle cones, brownies, and gelato cakes.
The other night they were on shift together as Gabby made a little cake, but was disappointed in how it turned out. Nate offered these helpful words, “Well, that’s a cake I wouldn’t feel bad eating.” Gotta love little brothers!
A sampling of other cakes she’s had a hand in, but not the offending one, though she told me she spent time fixing it.
Nate telling about a dance he attended:
“Well, I was throwing grapes at {the sister of a Trail Life buddy}, but she kept missing. I picked up the grapes off the floor, but then I couldn’t find a trash can. So, I stuck the grapes in my pocket. Thankfully, later I did find the trash.”

Proof of homeschoolers who sleep in, as we were hiking before daybreak:
It’s the opposite of dusk. -Nate
*Dawn. It was dawn.*
Nate: So there was this fast food restaurant, and I’m not sure that they are still around, but they had a clown.
Me: Wait…do you mean Ronald McDONALD?!? 🤣
I never did get Nate’s birthday post up because I was waiting to get his pictures, but then we didn’t get them done, between weather and a pyrogenic granuloma that he had removed, it just didn’t happen, but we are still thankful for our boy.
Happy Easter!!!
Each year at Easter, since Katie was one or two, the girls and I go to find the empty tomb. Then we wake the fellows, who go to the tomb too.
This morning, when Justin finally made it down stairs, Nate was waiting for him, and called out, “Hey Peter! You finally made it.”
As we were watching Dead Poets Society...
N: Are there any zombies?
Me: No
N: Skeletons?
Me: No
N: Then why do they call it DEAD Poets?!
