2025–Year in Review

We started the year by finishing Nate’s Hiking badge!  He hiked 20 miles that day.  I started the day with him, took a good fall, and after a bit over nine miles, Justin subbed in and finished the hike with him.

We got a bit of snow!

Katie tried her hand at entrepreneurship.

These two made a froggie cake.

A Daddy-Daughter night

A high school dance

We had a visit from Gabby’s favorite fellow (well three, but this is one).

These two took a wilderness First Aid class.

We had a Mother-Daughter dinner

Ellie earned her Ida Scudder Level Award.  If you don’t know about Ida, you might look her up—she was amazing.

Nate drove…a lot

Ellie made a model of the tabernacle.

Gabby and I AHG camped

Gabby went to prom in Virginia,

While we had Easter here.

We had our last AHG meeting

And celebrated Mother’s Day

Then we had Graduation

With this gal!

Wrapped up our Trail Life and AHG years,

Including letting Gabby walk the bridge one last time.

Nate, Ellie, and I began serving at a local food pantry.

Nate went to summer camp where he studied blacksmithing and woodworking.

I finished hand piecing this quilt that I began before Ellie was born.

The three of us went to AHG’s national convention:

Ellie was able to meet the founder

And Gabby was honored at a special night for Stars & Stripes recipients.

Gabby started a new adventure!

We had our First day of school gelato,

And she had first day of school gelato (with dad).

Ellie had her gymnastics showcase.

Nate joined Gabby at work.

We visited Katie at her new place.

We helped at a bike rest area for a race near us.

Katie started a new job

And they were all in one place!

We enjoyed our small town fall festival,

Hosted an OCC Packing Party,

And studied knot tying.

We finished Gabby’s 80+ miles of walking for her Wellness class.  And warmed up with some coffee!

We laid wreaths on veterans’ graves.

While Nate was playing Airsoft,

We got fun drinks at a local coffee shop.

Our AHG troop had Escape room fun at our Christmas Party.

They made ‘Gingerbread’ houses,

Baked

And decorated cookies,

And visited Santa.

They read Twas the Night Before Christmas (including the fellow from Virginia, via FaceTime).

All was ready for Christmas morning….

After the kids helped with bows and labels!  I always wrap earlier, but wait until after they go to bed on Christmas Eve to label them all.

Then we celebrated Christmas with our Advent candles!

Here’s to a joyous 2026!!
