So we let ourselves fall in love with a house. We chose to sit on it for a little while. We were waiting for a few reasons...one it wasn't a short sale and our lease isn't up until mid-July, so we didn't want to move too quickly. Also, the basement had been recently finished and we were a little concerned that there might be issues with leaking/mold/etc. We were looking into the possibility of a french drain and mold testing. As we did all of that, the house sold. The other of our top two choices is headed into foreclosure, so we've been warned that it will be off the market for a period of time.
So I figure either there is something wrong with the house that we couldn't have taken care of or that other family need it more. Or Nate would have taken a header off the railing from the top floor to the level below. Or Kate would have made good on her plan to escape from the bedroom window ["Gabby and I could jump out of this window."] (the one that was three stories up!). In any event, another family will have a beautiful house to call home, and we will find the home that God intends for us.
So I spent the day yesterday looking at the MLS. We've found some more houses to look at, and hopefully we'll find the perfect house for us. Progress, forward progress.
