(old picture here, but that is the light)
I run to turn off the light. I call Justin who has just left. I can't climb myself because I have this great fashion accessory for now:
He comes back, helps me figure out which circuit the light is on (We really need to diagram the house at some point!), empties the tray, removes the tubes, turns off the water to the house, and then we look at each other. He has a research student depending on him to be there so she can work this summer. We know this is going to be a bit of a project, but likely something very do-able. I told him I could call a plumber or my dad.
So I started with my dad. He was able to get away to come down. After a bit of time and holes in the kitchen ceiling and bedroom closet he found the source of our leak and repaired it.
Now we just have to make some cosmetic repairs and hang a light. I'm looking forward to the light going up, since it is a bit dark out there for now, but I'm thankful for running water without a drip and that the light didn't short before I found it!
Have you gotten the holes patched yet?
ReplyDeleteThe kitchen ceiling has been patched, two coats of mud, and the stippling is going up tonight. The closet patch hasn't happened just yet. We were more concerned about getting a light back in the kitchen--it's been a couple of dark weeks of cooking! I think we will have a light again tomorrow.
