Days

Some days you do really well. You get your children ready for church with plenty of time to spare, even though you have to get there early. The girls are in matching dresses with hairbows in their hair. The little fellow even coordinates. You are able to prepare dinner, despite the fact that your meal plans for the week have been a little jumbled by a change of plans.

And some days no one has napped in days. The baby gets his fingers so mashed in a door his sister slammed that you can't figure out how they aren't broken, but you can't get him to keep his hand on ice to get the swelling down either. Everyone has been so grumpy that by the time dinner is over your husband offers to let you take a walk and you wonder how long you can get away with as you head out the door. Before the clock strikes midnight the middle one has woken you up...twice...to take her to the bathroom.

And some days these diametrically opposed days collide in to one crazy, messy day. And you're grateful that there was a least some of the good mixed in with the hectic.
